Joe Hughes (b.1983) is a new face in new music. Having graduated from Dartington College of Arts, Devon in the summer of 2005, Joe was immediately asked to create new arrangements of two pieces for Icebreaker . These pieces, Dust on My Sleeve and Falling Down, Again have so far been performed in various locations including London and Rotterdam.
In 2006 Joe began studying at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and has recently been commissioned to write two new pieces for the forthcoming Graduation ceremony at Dartington Hall in which Gavin Bryars will be presented with an Honorary Doctorate.
Joe is currently collaborating with theatre group Awkward City on a new piece, Forgetanamia , to be performed this Autumn. Further dates will be announced soon!
