I am here for Friends

About Me

Hello. My name is Chris Goodland. I am happily married to an REOmaniac. We like to get together with friends we have met who are also fans of REO Speedwagon. I have lived a most interesting and unusual life so far. My life is high adventure. I grew up as an Army brat. I have moved more than 40 times in my life. I have been to 41 States and in 10 different countries. I was born in Minneapolis while my father was on Hubert Humphery's personal flight detatchment. Dad also served on Richard Nixon's flight detatchment as a crew cheif on one of the escort helicopters to the "Grey Ghost." My maternal grandfather worked at S.C.Johnson Wax for thirty years. He was a rockhound and made jewelry to suppliment his retirement. My Grandmother worked at the employment office in Kenosha, Wisconsin and sent many people to work for AMC General. I spent some time in the Army myself as a Field Radio Repairer. I spent most of my time in the Army in Germany. I lived there for nine years alltogether, three as a brat. After my ex ruined my military career, I lived in Austin for a while working on computer assembly lines. That was rather mind numbing work so I eventually found myself back in Louisiana and working in the oil field industry. I was a falling down drunk for a few years but I put all that behind me and haven't had a drink in over 14 years. I quit smoking about 10 years ago. I work for Halliburton as a Mudlogger. If I have spare time I have a side business that I would like to build repairing musical instruments. Here is a picture of my Great Great Grandparents.

How Will You Die?

MY RESULT: Devoured By Wolves

You’re not very cautious when it comes to unfamiliar places, and you tend to react fast rather than think things out. That’s why you’re gonna be wolf meat.
Studies have shown that you’re twice as likely to get hit by lightning than get attacked by wolves, so you’re a pretty lucky duck. When that pack of wolves starts hunting you down, try throwing rocks at them to ward them off. Don’t feed them anything or they might get aggressive when you run out of food. And don’t carry around any babies with you. Wolves love eating babies.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I already met the person I wanted to meet. Our lives took different pathes for a few years but we found our way back to each other and have been happily married for over ten years. So now let me hear about you. Tell me where you are. Tell me hello. Send me a picture. Wave hello. Ask me a question. Flip me off. Say something!

My Blog

Unusual is the usual.

It always seems that I get the jobs where they try to do unusual things in the process of drilling a well. This job is no exception. We are running in casing right now but this stuff has a little some...

Wow

So this afternoon I climb into a chopper at PHI in Amelia. The pilot goes into a hover and backs out into a taxi way with a subtle turn to the left. He then hovers out to the breezeway and very smooth...

Danger on the rig.

We took a really bad kick. A few bad decisions were made and we had a subsurface blowout. The BOP's were able to hold the pressure but the formation could not and it crumbled somewhere around 3900 fe...
