ShadowMist was spawned from the minds of Samuroth and Lord Wraith ( Ex-Ezurate) that are from the Chicago land area. ShadowMist started as a side project of Ezurate. With Samuroth on guitars and Lord Wraith on drums they created a repertoire of songs. The songs however were missing vocals and a second guitar, so Samuroth sought out another guitarist and searched desperately for a vocalist with the style he desired. ShadowMist brought in recruited guitarist Count Skuddselvmord, a guitarist that would add good countering to Samuroth’s guitar work. With no luck in the search for a vocalist and most of the songs closed to being finished, Samuroth who never wanted to be in the spotlight of a band like a vocalist, rather just a guitarist, stepped up, and gave some screams towards the mic. What came out seemed to be what he had been searching for. Samuroth began writing lyrics and putting the finishing touches on the songs, however ShadowMist was a side project, commitment from Lord Wraith changed from being in the band to becoming a session member. So Samuroth and Count Skuddselvmord worked the final tweaks out and got every song ready to record. When the songs were finished ShadowMist had more than enough material for recording a demo. Samuroth who saw that the band was turning from a band into a solo project gathered all the material he could and began recording a demo for ShadowMist. The demo is now done and is named “For Upon Twilight…†It is a six song demo with several different influences. Right now ShadowMist stands as Samuroth’s solo project, however Count Skuddselvmord and Lord Wraith continue to contribute to the band as session members.
Now Marks the Final Chapter in the History of ShadowMist.
After much deliberation and thought on the subject, I have decide that my current and future goals musically, and creatively No longer allow me to keep ShadowMist going any longer. This Final Chapter of the History of ShadowMist marks the beginning of new era for me personally and creatively. ShadowMist has allowed me to break creative silence, and to learn the importance of expression in my music and art. ShadowMist has taught me to read deeper into the realm around me and to question rather accept blindly. I have decided that my personal best effort from ShadowMist was the last song I released entitled "The Allegory of Caves." I have decided to terminate ShadowMist in the best of circumstances to keep the Mockery that is todays metal from being associated with it. This is not out of fear, but Rather out of respect for my Influences, and what lead me to form ShadowMist. I shall leave this page up for the time being as a Tribute to my personal accomplishment, and failure. When the Time is right I will delete the page and keep the last Memories for my self. Please, (I know that know body reads shit before they add people anyways) do not request me as a friend, leave comments or message. For your request will not be answered, or approved. This is no long a page of a band, but rather a tribute to the past and new beginnings.
