About Me

Mix five guys with a love of Outlaw and Honky Tonk Country Music and you get Due South! Due South formed in 2007, when singer/songwriter Paul Nunn and guitar player/songwriter Albert Maylen got together to play and write music that they loved. The songs that came out of those sessions caught the attention of fans and together they started on the task of putting a band together. The addition of steel player Duane Reese, drummer Keith Kaler, and bass player Boady Bahler finished the lineup, and Due South has been adding to its fan following ever since. 2008 looks to be a busy year, for the up and coming band, with the first album due out in mid/late summer.

Band Members: Paul Nunn (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) is originally from Vernon, Texas but now resides in Weatherford, Texas. He started out singing the songs he had written at open mic nights around the Ft. Worth area. Paul has a natural talent of keeping the crowds entertained in the same traditions of all the legendary Texas Honky-Tonkers before him. He says, "I just love songwriting, and I love singing, but the bottom line for me is, if we keep the audience dancing and having fun, we're doing our jobs!" Paul plays Breedlove Guitars.

Albert Maylen (lead guitar/mandolin) is a very versatile and talented musician and songwriter. Albert spent 2 years as the musical director for the Oklahoma Opry, and played in one of the best-known country bands in Oklahoma before moving to Granbury, TX. Albert plays G&L & Fender guitars and uses Dr. Z amps exclusively.

Duane Reese (steel guitar/dobro) is as talented as they come. Duane has played with many local bands in his home state of Utah, as well as Texas. He has also played steel guitar in professional theater, including The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Always... Patsy Cline, and the premier of Larry Gatlin's Look Homeward Honky-Tonk Angel. Duane plays an Emmons steel guitar, Tut Taylor dobro and uses Peavy amps.

Keith Kaler (drums) Keith Kaler grew up playing bluegrass music in a musical family before picking up drums after high school. Keith quickly became one of the most sought after drummers in Oklahoma. Also an accomplished upright bass player and still plays bluegrass festival when time allows. Keith plays Tama drums and endorses Audix Mics.

Boady Bahler (bass) Boady is the seasoned veteran of the group. He spent four years playing on the road with a few famous Nashville acts including a stint with Honky-Tonk legend the late Hank Thompson before deciding to stay closer to home and joining Due South. Boady plays Fender basses and uses Eden amps and ACME cabinets.
