Evan Newman

Have performed in Britain and France and Spain, with live funk ensemble 'Big World Skunk' (jellyjazz records, Plymouth, UK), independant experimental rock group 'SuncoilSect' (Rocket Records, Bristol, UK), French Caribean lovers reggae pioneer RegisT (Tuff Gong, jamaica), Dub/Drum'n'bass fusioneers 'Contreband' (unsigned, Perpignan), The Haggis Horns, and am currently participating in various Bristol original breaks projects. It's been my good fortune to play live alongside classic groups such as War, Tower of power, Horace Andy, James Taylor quartet, and Snowboy and the latin section since starting off as a live musician, and with many good friends and artists too numerous to mention. Recently aquiring a B.A. in creative music technology I'm busy working alongside artists in Bristols music scene such as hip hop project 'hundred strong' and various live ensembles playing mainly dub, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, blues and rock music. As a composer, the majority of work has been with large bands such as BigWorldSkunk, Contreband and Edenheight.Edenheight are currently working on new material for release.
