Jack Johnson is the bomb. I don't care what anybody says he is the most talented musician of the 21st century thus far. I also like Matt Costa (similar style to JJ), and Ben Harper. As for my reggae soul; UB40, Ziggy Marley and of course, the man, BOB! Overall I've gotta say folk rock is my favorite genre. Jack, Matt, and Ben all fall under that category, along with one of my more recent favorites; Rodrigo y Gabriela. You gotta go check 'em out. They're off the chizzain, fool. Also, Gym Class Heroes...awesome and multi-genre. I just discovered the band "Plain White T's" and yes, they totally rock. Also if your lookin' for some spiritually moving music go find some David Crowder. Powerful stuff dude! Rocky Votolato is the best half-emo, half- folk band I have ever heard, they're solemnly groovey. Then there's Group X. They straight outta South Jowja and they funny as all break-loose. Also Billy Idol that dude with Krazy awesome hair...yeah he's pretty solid too. Let out a Rebel Yell baby!! Red is a cool "Christian" rock band, but they're kinda pullin' a Creed. They still dry quick. Who doesn't love the Red Hot Chili Peppers, they have all the right ingredients....like peppers. The Ramones are also one of my recent favorites..with "I Wanna Be Sedated", "Blitzkrieg Bop", and "Pet Semetary" (yes, purposely misspelled). I found this band called Band of Horses, their song The Funeral is one of the best fable songs I've heard (only second to Jack Johnson). Avenged Sevenfold is pretty hardcore, and their song "Beast and the Harlot", is what got me addicted to Guitar Hero/GH2. Golden Earring is a good band....but they're kinda wierd...it's an aquired taste. I can't believe I haven't put this band in here yet; The Killers AKA Kings of Grunge Rock. I like Wolfmother because I believe they define modern day alternative rock. Jack Johnson rules! Van Halen has the sickest guitar solos I have ever heard and I wish that I could meet Eddie Van himself. Korn is a really tight band too. They might come off as wierd or "twisted".....and they are, but the music is still rocktastic. Ok, I don't know how I did this, but I did. I forgot to mention some of the most influential Rock gods; AC/DC, ZZ Top, JIMI HENDRIX, (I even missed..) Guns N' Roses, Thin Lizzy, Foreigner, Journey, and Lynard Skynard! Mickey Avalon's got a perty tight rythm. Count Zero, another band I discovered through the "magic" of Guitar Hero, along with a techno rock band, Buckethead. Check 'em! I found a band not too long ago called Tamarama. They only have one good song (Everything To Me) but they're gunna take-off soon. Shadows Fall dry quick, with their great riffs and drum slams. Radiohead is a great fascination of mine. They're an alternative band mostly based in the 90's with hits such as "Creep" and "I Might Be Wrong". They should have a new album out around July of '07. The White Stripes are just straight up awesome. If you don't like them or haven't heard of them, then you're a loser. Norah Jones, she's a great artist (kinda R+B/folk). I think I'll end up marrying her....even though she's like 10 years older than me. Nirvana.....HOW DID I MISS THEM?!? Origins of true Grunge Rock. The Flaming Lips, Imogen Heap, and the Dead Kennedys are ballin'. Jack Johnson is possibly the most awesomely awesome musician since Jimi Hendrix, but Jack's still alive...and sober. I've also got a few songs in development that I wrote myself, and I actually think they're pretty good (not that thats biased though) Arcade Fire is a righteous band that incorporates almost anykind of instrument they can into their fine array of music. They kinda sound like the Killers and they look and act like the White Stripes. Muse has a very appealing sound that will resonate through your mind like an Italian in a nice restaurant, eating for free. I've always liked The Doors, but never as much as I do now. They're really influencing me in my music; Thank you Jim Morrison! Speaking of Morrison, I also like Van Morrison but not Brown-eyed Girl, or really any of their popular stuff. Also I'm kinda goin for Bob Dylan's sound nowadays, makes me wanna go buy a harmonica and a tambourine.
Happy Gilmore - I love the scene where he misses the ball on his drive. "****! ****! ****** ******! monkey ****! *****!" / I also like the movie October Sky. It's kinda emotional, but really cool. Rock on Ms. Riley/ FIGHT CLUB////// ///Edward Scissorhands/// After the Sunset, Fools Rush In (basicly any movie with Selma Hayek) A Walk To Remember // The Good Son / James Bond: Casino Royale, Die Another Day, The Prestige, and The Illusionist
The Challenge RR/RW, CSI, Mad TV and SNL For Saila
