I am here for Friends

About Me

Words that describe me - fun, witty, intelligent, young at heart, independent, open-minded, spontaneous, adventurous, not too naughty - not too nice, laid back, reliable, caring, passionate about my interests, always ready to have a good time. I am definitely a play before work person - that must be why I found myself a job where I only have to work 12 days a month (ie, only 4 1/2 months a year). I enjoy my time in the ER, but mostly work on enjoying my days off with traveling, visiting family and friends around the country, getting the most out of living in Indianapolis, hanging with friends, shopping, getting settled into my new downtown condo, etc. I like to make people laugh, help to bring out the best in people, and have good conversations. My pet peeves include those couples who have the need to sit on the same side of the booth at a restaurant, and those people who complain about things they are able to change.

Music:

Just about anything but country - although my tolerance of it has increased after my recent vacation to Nashville. Mostly like alternative - Coldplay, The Fray, Ben Folds, Ben Lee, Death Cab for Cutie, Sarah MacLachlan, Dido. Any song with some quality piano. Classical music (with my violin background) Enjoy some good dance/techno/hip-hop if I am in the mood to move.

Movies:

Since I am a girl of course I like romantic comedies - "13 Going on 30", "Sweet Home Alabama", "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" to name a few,and the newest one I have enjoyed is "License to Wed". Most any movie starring Matthew McConaughey (especially "A Time to Kill") or Matt Damon (especially "Good Will Hunting"). Any movie that makes me laugh until I almost cry like "Wedding Crashers" or "American Pie". Enjoy movies about solving mysteries or crime, that make you think and put the pieces of the puzzle together. But my favorite movie of all time is still "Back to the Future".

Television:

I'll admit - I am an avid "Days of Our Lives" fan - and DVR it every day. I have gotten into some reality shows, such as the "Bachelor"/"Bachelorette", the "Amazing Race", "Treasure Hunters", "America's Next Top Model". Really enjoyed Season 2 of "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills". I enjoy watching the Style Network, especially "The Look for Less" and "How Do I Look?" and HGTV, especially "House Hunters". Game shows now and then - "Jeopardy", "Family Feud", and "Cash Cab". Love to find reruns of shows from the past - "Family Ties", "Saved By the Bell", "Dawson's Creek", "Friends", "Will & Grace", "Sex & The City". I find much hmor in "How I Met Your Mother" Also enjoy mystery-solving shows, both crime with "CSI: Miami" and "NCIS" and medical with "House".

Books:

Enjoy reading - especially on a cold or rainy day curled up in a chair or checking out new books and/or magazines at the bookstore. Although dreading it in high school, I am into reading classic literature, such as "Catcher in the Rye", "Wuthering Heights", and "The Great Gatsby". Enjoy the entire series of books written by John Grisham, especially liking "The Pelican Brief" and "The Last Juror". Most recently read "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey, and would recommend it - very insightful.
