The Colognian ska band brew in matters of ska a soup of their own.
The fishhedz flavour the traditional ska with a dash of the early Two Tone developed by the Specials and a pinch of surf only the most selected ingredients are allowed. The offbeat section powered by two guitars, the firm arrangements of the horn section and female background vocals heat up the audience eager to dance and make it wish for more. Singer and guitarist fischa provides with his raucous and expressive voice for a crackling intimate club atmosphere. The sweaty hot dish of the fishhedz is something for absolute foodies.
The musicians completed their apprenticeship in matters of ska, rocksteady and rockabilly in several bands. Since 2000 the fishhedz are demonstrating with their interpretation of ska that boyzandgirlz can be the salt in the soup only together.
The grade of the fishhedz first album love n crime appeared amongst others during gigs with Marc Foggo, the Slackers, the Quicksteps, Alpha Boy School and the Braces. The French became prick-eared and promptly booked the ska band for a tour in Nice, Cannes and Montpellier.
The first album love n crime mixed by Ekki Maas who already produced the doctors Ring Ding and Calypso as well as Doreen Shaffer does not only cause a stir in this country.
'The opus is very convincingly The fishhedz represent themselves in matters of their compositions, their play and above all their sound rather in the drive of the young alternative ska bands of New York.' (Source: Riddim - author: Alexander Birk)
