I´m Alan Garvie and I run East of Eden bookshop with my friend Mark Mulholland and with the help of other friends we are doing ok and having a lot of laughs doing the shop.
We put on concerts and readings in the shop, anything up to once a week, and have had some fantastic nights of music and readings here. To list everyone who has given a great performance at the shop would be unfair to those I would have to leave out because of lack of space, but hopefully soon you will be able to see them all here in our myspace friends.
We do of course sell books, and we have a great selection from paperbacks to antique leather bound editions. Mainly English books, but we stock a decent selection of German and French language books and a small selection from whatever other languages we can get. The shop incorporates 5 rooms of books, with seats and a sofa, so that our customers can take their time and feel at home, and a lot of them do just that. We try to get any title that a customer wants new or used, but find that everyone can find something in our selection that they want to read.
