In the beginning, the original band members and a couple of other people got together to perform for SMK Taman Melawati's Prefect's Party in 2004. There was Ilyas on vocals and rhythm guitar, Syabil on drums, Liyana on additional rhythm guitar, Amin on bass and Zulfadhli on lead guitar.
Zulfadhli then went on to another school and has since formed a new band where he plays lead guitar. And maybe sings. We think.
Ilyas, Syabil, Liyana and Amin continued to jam together in studios. The band then became ALIS (go figure) and performed together once at SMK Taman Melawati's Prefect's Party in 2005. It was also during this year that the band composed their first song, "Friends".
Then in 2006, Amin left the band and was replaced with Zul Aimi. There weren't any hard feelings from both parties, and Amin approved of Zul taking his position. The band then recruited Tasha on keyboards and so, The Blind Babies was formed.
That year, the band had a lot more gigs, playing at SMK Taman Melawati's 5 Beta's class party; Teacher's Day/Puan Jamiah's Farewell; Malam Sekalung Budi; SMK Taman Melawati's Prefect's Party 2006. Pretty lame events, but everybody's got to start somewhere. The band has also composed a lot of new songs and have experimented with new sounds, hoping to not conform to one type of genre and keep on making good music.
The band got their SPM examinations over with and are now in different colleges and universities. Sometime in May 2008, the band will reunite and will hopefully get some shit done for your listening pleasure.
