Named after a local psychiatric institution, 4th Floor hail from Three Lakes, Wisconsin. After forming in March 2004 to compete in a local talent show the band have gone from strength to strength, solidifying their sound and becoming one of the states most original and accomplished acts. With their heavy sound and slightly twisted lyrics, Ryan Wallis (lead vocals/guitar), Zach Hales (lead guitar/vocals), Dan Scheppele (rhythm guitar/vocals), Tim Hales (bass), and Mike Maney (drums) stand alongside such bands as Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, and Black Stone Cherry.4th Floor has played over 600 shows in 4 states winning two Battle of the Bands including the regional Launchpad competition and receiving air play on radio stations including 94.5 WRJO and Z104.1 Real Rock. After recording the theme for the sports show Outdoor Frontiers they entered A440 Studios and recorded their first album "Released" to widespread acclaim in 2006. Over 250 college radio stations across the country have played that album.The band recently put out their 2nd studio effort, Newton’s Cradle, on June 6th, 2009. This album was recorded at Whitehouse Studios in Wausau, WI. On display throughout this record, is a more uniform, mature, and in your face style of song writing. With five years under their belts as a group, 4th Floor has become a force to be reckoned with as far as bands in the Midwest are concerned. One listen to the band’s most recent release will leave no doubt that they are the real deal. Newton’s Cradle is being shopped to a number of major labels in the US. Most notably are Wind-Up Records, Warner Bros Records, and Dangerbird Records.Over the years 4th Floor has had the privilege of opening for Red, Royal Bliss, Papa Roach, Black Stone Cherry, Hinder, Nonpoint, Hellyeah, Finger 11, Machine Head, as well as playing with countless other local/regional bands from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa.
