About Me

Discovered by Mike Bloomfield at the Bleecker Street Village Oldies Shop in Greenwich Village, NYC, I was offered a recording contract 3 weeks later with Frank Zappa and other similar opportunites by age 21. I gradually phased out of professional music to pursue poetry and spirituality. Now that I'm older and hopefully wiser, I'm slowly easing back into it. Songwriters are our modern prophets and seers. And as famous NYC AM disc jockey Cousin Bruce Morrow is fond of saying on public TV, "Music provides the sound track of our lives".My generation gave us terrific songwriters: BOB DYLAN ("the original messenger", also the elegant Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Jim Morrison and Robbie Krieger of THE DOORS, Robbie Robertson's 'The Band', Billy Joel, Janis Joplin, Van Morrison, Kris Kristofferson, Neil Young, Don McLean, the team of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of 'The Rolling Stones'. In the '70's, Barry Gordy, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and the rest gave us the polished Motown sound, Gamble and Huff and the team of Darryl Hall and John Oates hailed from South Philly, Bruce Springsteen sprung full blown and 'Born To Run' outa Asbury Park, New Jersey. With his friend Patti Smith, a Jerseyite too)they penned the mega hit "Because The Night". These days, new crops of excellent songwriters have burst upon the scene, spearheaded by the likes of Eminem, Sarah Mc Laughlin ("Angel"), Donnie Witt from Kentucky (gonzo country), Jesse Malin from New York City's lower East side, Lucinda Williams, Nellie McKay, Leonard Cohen's present collaborater and solo artist Anjani Thomas and Lisa Ann Wright in Utica, NY via Washington, DC. Music is the universal language both here in the states and all around the world, so, my friends, whatever your genre, hard or alternative rock, hip hop, hip hop soul, classic rock, classic soul, jazz, blues, new or old country, folk rock, acoustic folk, whatever floats your boat, RING IT OUT THROUGH THE RAFTERS - LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD because to me, "it's only rock n roll, but I LIKE it" (credit the sage Mick Jagger). So reclaim your souls. Music will heal what ails you. Arise! Reach for the skies! Unveil your eyes. Surprise! Surprise! ENJOY YOUR MUSICAL LIVES & BE GLAD YOU'VE MADE IT THIS FAR AND ARE STILL ALIVE. And if there's anything I've learned over the years it's to "DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU." Trust in God, Music, The Force, whatever you name. Then believe in yourself. Be yourself at all times; "It ain't no sin to be glad you're alive" (Bruce Springsteen). ALL OF MY WORK IS IN PUBLIC DOMAIN; SO SHALL IT BE; SO SHALL IT EVER REMAIN.
