-----We love meeting responsible owners looking to add a APBTs to their lives.
Individuals who have given alot of thought to adding an APBT to their lives. Many people come and go who get obtain these dogs without thinking through what their needs will be. “ALL DOGS need exerciseâ€. “ ALL DOGS need Structure, Training & Attentionâ€
PLEASE, if you have thought about adding a dog to your life, think really long and hard about how committed you will and can be to "ANY" dog,
Many people who find Pit bulls off the streets in bad situations make quick decision to keep the dog they find, while many times this can be just fine Its important to remember that the dogs should always be taken to a vet or shelter to be scanned for a microchip,"FIRST". Found dogs should "ALWAYS" be reported to Animal Control as a LOST DOG,There are countless dogs that are found and never reported that are processed out into new homes or shelters when the owners may be looking for them,
It is noble to rescue an animal off the street, we agree, but it is equally as noble and important to make sure these animals enter a program where they can have their needs met by professionals who can help them, "THEN" place them on the adoption floor, or place them with a rescue who specializes in the breed.
We need to encourage people to get back into the Animal shelters & back into the rescue facilities to see the dogs for adoption there.
If your local Animal control does not adopt out Pit bulls, or certain breeds, Try contacting a local rescue, usually they work “with†the Animal Controls and have great pit bull adoption programs!
Remember, there is a reason that some shelters or Animal Controls do not adopt out Pit Bulls, It is often ONLY because they do not have enough staff to CORRECTLY screen potential adopters.
We commend the Shelters who say "If it can not be done correctly we just will not do it. They DO work with RESCUE groups to get these dogs out, so please think about that before you flame the Animal Controls who have a no Pit Bull Adoption policy.
Do your research FIRST, and remember, you will get NOWHERE by being RUDE & Unprofessional.
We urge you to go, or Visit a Pit bull Rescue, there are a couple of different ones in Indianapolis, with US ( Casa Del Toro Being one of them.)
These dogs are excellent dogs, but they deserve someone who has given much thought to adding them into their lives, They need a job, they need exercise, they have needs as animal & dogs that need to be met, then they have needs as a Pit bull Terrier, If you think you can fulfill those needs,
We urge you to please visit or dogs for adoption at :

KUDOS TO Indianapolis Animal Care & Control for working so hard with Local rescues to get as many animals to a safe harbor!! We know this takes alot of time and work that people may not see on a daily basis! p>
*Please remember, as with any animal or situation, There is a reason that we have professionals who handle the abuse/neglect cases, there is a protocol that we have to follow that sometimes doesn’t seems right or fair, but by “Law†in order to make cases against people on these crimes they commit against the animals we have to follow a certain process. Please Leave the Investigating up to the Animal Control Officers, Many times evidence will be inadmissible in court if obtained incorrectly or not in line with the Indiana State Laws.
Marion County & Johnson County Indiana , Animal Control officers do a GREAT job, Help them by being an extra set of eyes for them and report ANY suspected Animal Cruelty, Neglect or Dog Fighting information you may have.
What we as caring individuals can do to help this is to Support our local Animal Care & control departments, Speak up for stronger animal cruelty laws! By doing this we WILL make a difference.

We encourage more people to get involved in understanding these dogs or the breed of dog you own, no matter what kind of animal you own, KNOW YOUR ANIMAL
Its one thing to go into adoption of an animal with your heart, but its another going into an adoption with your heart , good intentioned and Blinders on to the needs of the animal you are attempting to "RESCUE", Please THINK AGAIN before attempting to fill your home with animals that need more that Big Pillows & Tons of spoiling, Theres nothing wrong with that , "AFTER" the rest of their CRUCIAL needs are met, as Animals.
