What started out as a group of adolescent teens searching for something positive out of life, has turned into a city-wide movement. Laponne is the biggest group to hit Alabama ever. Some critics say that they are a modern day N.W.A of the south. The Group members dont really buy into all the hype however. They just do what they love, music; and let it speak for itself. A couple members of the group were killed over the past few years, but the group stayed together and became that much more driven to succeed. The word "Laponne" is not just a group name in Huntsville, Alabama, it's a movement. The Group has made history in this city, they are living legends in any hood in Northern Alabama. They have performed shows with State-wide celebs like Mr. Biggs and Main-Stream artists like Mike Jones, Young Dro, and Yo Gotti. The latest cd "Back 2 Da Gutta" featured a song with Mike Jones called "I Got Diamonds" which also has a video that can be found on the Laponne: Strictly Gutta dvd. The Group now consists of four members: C.P- the outspoken lyricist of the group, Gillatine- the cash money talking "Baby" of the group, Sweata King- the laid back, smooth, punchline champion, and Byron- the silent assassin.
