About Me

The following comes from one the most hilariously quoteable plays written, "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde:
Lady Bracknell: I have always been of opinion that a man who desires to get married should know either everything or nothing. Which do you know?
Jack(after some hesitation): I know nothing, Lady Bracknell.
Lady Bracknell:I am pleased to hear it. I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever.
************************************************************ *
Lady Bracknell: Good afternoon, dear Algernon, I hope you are behaving well.
Algernon: I'm feeling very well Aunt Augusta.
Lady Bracknell: That's not quite the same thing. In fact, the two things rarely go together.
************************************************************ *
Algernon: Did you hear what I was playing, Lane?
Lane: I didn't think it polite to listen, sir.
Algernon: I'm sorry for that, for your sake. I don't play accurately- anyone can play accurately- but I play with wonderful expression.
**********************************************************
Jack: You don't think there is any chance of Gwendolen becoming like her mother in about a hundred and fifty years, do you, Algy?
Algernon: All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That's his.
************************************************************
Jack: How can you sit there, calmly eating muffins when we are in this horrible trouble, I can't make out. You seem to me to be perfectly heartless.
Algernon: Well, I can't eat muffins in an agitated manner. The butter would probably get on my cuffs. One should always eat muffins quite calmly. It is the only way to eat them.
Jack: I say it's perfectly heartless your eating muffins at all, under the circumstances.
Algernon: When I am in trouble, eating is the only thing that consoles me. Indeed, when I am in really great trouble, as any one who know me intimately will tell you, I refuse everything except food and drink.

    My Interests

    I'd like to meet:

Yeah, that's my other house. Back in the "auld" country. Ayershire, Scotland. Actually, its the Culzean Castle, Ayershire.
I love this song. The lyrics reflect what this life is all about. The song is "It is You" recorded by Newsboys

    Movies:

Man For All Seasons- 'cause it exemplifies how a man should live. A Vow to Cherish and The Notebook- 'cause they both show what true love is. The Passion of the Christ- because without this, the movies above wouldn't matter. Much Ado About Nothing, The Man Who Knew Too Little, Undercover Brother (some material may be unsuitable for the unmarried), the Emperors New Groove... I'll add more to this later, but these are all movies I think are funny. Anne of Green Gables (and Anne of Avonlea), Pride and Prejudice, Ever After, The First Knight, and other girl movies- for two reasons: 1) I am a romantic, and 2) You gotta understand the females in our world somehow, and these movies will give you crash course in female pyschology....

    Books:

    If you're a guy (and want to be a man, regardless of your age) the following books, IMHO are required reading (they shaped my life); If you're gal, some of these books will probably bore you, but will define what a man is, so you know what to look for in a guy... And now, the List (Title, Author): Disciplines of a Godly Man, Foster; Maximized Manhood, Cole (actually, any book written by Cole is a must read); 1st Peter, St. Peter (Located in the New Testament of the Bible- Also, since it is only 5 chapter long this is considered a must memorize); James, James the brother of Christ (Also found in the N.T.- also is req'd memorization) 1st and 2nd Timothy, Paul (again, N.T.- memorize them); Ephesians, Paul (N.T.); Knowing God, J.I. Packer; Cost of Discipleship, Bonhoffer; Life on the Edge, Dobson; Dare to Date Differently, (I can't remember the authors name); I Kissed Dating Goodbye, Harris (though, I'm not sure about some of his other stuff...); (more to follow at a later date) For fictional work I like the following: Calvin and Hobbes; The Fisherman's Lady, Macdonald; The Marquis Secret, Macdonald; Left Behind series, LaHaye; Zion Covenant, Thoene; Zion Chronicles, Thoene; The Far Side, Larson;
