Cold Blue Stars: The music, which has been described as both uplifting and bleak, takes on many influences, textures, and moods. Their most recent material is by far the best expression and grandest soundscape, sounding as if the boys from Dublin had grown up in the southern US. Each track passes milestones of sonic philosophy varing between ambient music, roots music, and alternative rock; all haunting, beautiful, familiar but refreshing. The lyrics are both impressionistic and narrative, relying on imagery and story telling to explore themes of hope, despair, and a better world.
