"On Any Given Day" is a song from the heart about an innocent man who is currently on Ohio's death row, Brett Hartmann. Surely the victim's family and friends deserve justice, but then so does the man who is wrongfully convicted, and his family.
There are many bits of information all over the Internet, unfortunately much of it is twisted and tainted, just as Brett's trial was. Other writings are merely opinion... so much to sift through. Pertinent information was covered up during the trial, solid information such as fingerprints and hair that do not belong to Brett or the victim. These facts were never properly investigated, leaving too much to the unknown. How can we convict a man and take yet another life without being sure?
The views expressed in this song may or may not be those of the entire band. I never asked them to commit their stance. But I will say that they all agreed to make this public. We, as people will all have differing opinions, and I respect that. The sad truth of the matter is that innocent people do get put to death. It could happen to any one of us, on any given day.
