About Me

With "The Big Figures" not doing much, and a few songs coming out of me which aren't really band material anyway, I've been doing a few open Mike nights (predominantly the Halt and occasionally Rio, more recently the Bier Halle ) just to see how things go. The plan for 2009 is to record an album's worth of material........

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: It's only me...... Although the lovely sax you might hear if you listen to "Chasin Fish" is Bruce Michie, and Al Finney (in the picture on the left) gives me a lot of musical support with harmonica, melodica and guitar (although not usually all at once). I aspire to do a bit more collaborating with a few others from time to time.
Influences: The Reindeer Section, Everything but the Girl, Belle and Sebastian, the Stranglers, XTC, Monica and Johnny..... and The Damned, of course! (but don't expect anything with any tricky playing involved)
Record Label: Unsigned

If all meat is murder, then all cheese is theft......

I've decided to put up a version of my fun song "Cheese". I'm not sure if it heralds a lighter mood or one of the final tracks on a concept album based on the courses of a Christmas Dinner. (Suggestio...

A New Song - The Songlines

It's a bit pagan, it's a bit ropey and the end is a bit left field, but "no work of art is ever completed, only abandoned"

All gone quiet..?

After our last couple of gigs, you may be forgiven for thinking it's all gone quiet. But there is a new recording venture in the offing. I won't say much more just now, but I am aspiring to some bette...

An Oldie

Thought I'd put one of my tunes we did with the Big Figures  up here for a wee while, for a bit of a change.
