Curtis 'Paycheck' Guinn was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Influenced by his uncle George who was a DJ on the local scene led to Paycheck listening to alot of music. Paycheck formed a group with 4 of his cousins and his homeboy House called 14k and the PGP. This is where Paycheck learned how to perform and put together songs. Paycheck wrote poems & songs and in the 6th grade his teacher entered his poem into a contest. The poem titled 'Violence' won best poem in Johnson Park Middle school. Middle school was also the time Paycheck got involved in lunch room battles. Skill wise Paycheck had it but when it came down to bagging on clothes that was a no win. To young to get a job Paycheck did what he had to do to get his life together. Hustling is not something that paycheck is proud of but he is also not ashamed. In 1996 paycheck released a album with friend Ty Stix entitled 'Champagne Wishes' under the group name Ty Stix & Curt Guinn. Paycheck also released 'Names Change the Game Remains the same under the name Curt Guinn. In 2005 Curt Guinn changed his name to Paycheck after a late night of just thinking. Curt said he is the owner of Holdem High Ent, he is also the one that will be cutting the checks so why not Paycheck. Paycheck has a sound that will be a fresh breath to hip hop. Paycheck is for the streets at the same time giving true life in his songs, dealing with issues that range from hustling, 9 to 5'n, battered and abused women, relationships, and religion. Paycheck also puts it down for the clubs and all the trappers and ballers sitting on 20 inches or better.
