I live in the American Gardens Building on W. 81st Street on the 11th floor. It is heavily implied that I spend little time in my office and do very little work while I am there. While in the office, I appear to spend most of my time on trivial amusements such as crossword puzzles, watching television, and listening to music. I often arrive late, meet friends for drinks before taking long lunches, and do not work late into the evening. When asked why I hold a job I say I hate, despite the fact that I am independently wealthy and do not need to work, I always give the same stony reply: "Because I want to fit in." When not in the office, I spend my free time standing on the very outside top edge ballancing on skyscrapers dispite my fear of falling, eating at japanese restaurants, running, or visiting various 100 yen shops. At home, I enjoy watching videotapes, particularly pornography and slasher films, and am an avid fan of a fictional talk show called The Patty Winters Show. I often use the phrase "returning videotapes" as an excuse to account for the time I have spent torturing and killing my victims. I also read biographies of other serial killers, such as Ed Gein and Ted Bundy.It is also quite plausible that the reality of my sociopathic behavior is intentionally left ambiguous. This may be to suggest that the context in which the my character is situated is so obsessed with surface and image that (all) deeply disturbing behavior goes unnoticed, including murder, rape, and torture (not to mention hyper-competitiveness, sexism, classism, drug addiction, and depression).Here is one of my favorite Quotes read by John Cassavetes, from Ray Carney's "The Adventure of Insecurity": * "People kill themselves because of society's inability to educate, in terms of love any further than a given point.
