Daniel Lasuba was born in 1981 in the Southern Sudan town of Juba – Sudan. Having been brought up in a dedicated Christian family he started singing in the early age of eight in the Sunday school at church. He started discovering the talent of singing in his teen aging period when some of his teachers in church and school started encouraging him that he has a good voice and he sings well. He was performing since then in church services, occasions and festivals.In the year 1992 Daniel Lasuba left Juba to Khartoum as an IDP after the massacre of 07/07/1992 in Juba when the SPLA attacked Juba and so many people were killed as a result of that by the Sudan government for allegedly being accused of cooperating with the SPLA.At the age of eighteen Daniel Lasuba joined professional singing groups in Khartoum like the Bees Singing Group, the King of Kings Praise and Worship team plus the choir at church. In working with these groups Daniel caught the chance of sharpening his singing talent by working with so professional and qualified church and secular singers, song writers and music composers.Daniel started writing songs by the age of twenty and he managed to release his first Gospel Album “Lord I Love You†in the year 2002 where he was featured by the “Three for the Lord groupâ€, Deng Mathing and Nyarji Jermlele. This album was Daniel’s first music product that boosted his recognition in the music industry in Sudan.Moreover Daniel worked with other Sudanese Gospel groups and artists like Mido Samuel of Fire Gospel Musica and a member of Young Lions, Mary Botul, Clara Oliver, Ephraim Praise and Worship Group, Emmanuel Joseph. And in addition to that Daniel is also a music producer and Studio Technician. Having been trained on this sound engineering field he worked for SudMedia international company in Khartoum – Sudan, he also worked as a Radio Studio Technician for the United Nations Mission in Sudan Radio Miraya 101 fm. Having graduating from Juba University as a Journalist he is recently working as a Radio Producer and Radio Studio Technician for Sudan Radio Service in Nairobi – Kenya. www.sudanradio.org listen to us on this website.Daniel is recently working on his second album called “REBUILDINGâ€, which is expected to be launched soon in September 2008.Generally Daniel Lasuba sings Gospel and Socio-political songs. On Gospel he focuses on the message of salvation, the love of God and preaching God’s word through music that’s worship and praise. On the other hand in Socio-political area his sings for Peace, Unity, HIV/AIDS, Fight against tribalism and corruption in Sudan, Darfur and the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that ended the two decades civil war in Sudan signed in 2005 in Nairobi – Kenya. He focuses in preaching the message of peace, love, unity and coexistence between all the Sudanese especially the Southern Sudanese and all the people of the world.Daniel is striving hard to be the best musician nationally and also take his music step music to the international level worldwide. He is one of the gifted and talented musicians in Sudan and Southern Sudan in particular.
