My name is Bob Kaufman, I have been conjured from the dead to create this myspace page. I was a major figure in the american beat movement. In fact so major, I was known to just jump up on cars in North Beach and just reciting my poetry. Until the cops drug me off to jail. A newspaper reporter once witnessed one of these episodes, he called me a beatnick. Well the name kind of stuck. So it was born. I never gained much popularity for my writing until after I was dead, but in France I was quite popular and known as "The Black Rimbaud". There was a questionable ten year vow of silence after the Vietnam War started, the reason I say it was questionable, well those who were close to me, they know the real story. I died of emphysema in January of 1986. I left behind an ex-wife and my son Parker.
