click on the picture below to go to The John Reign and the Headstone Cafe site.In the summer of 2002, John began writing songs and occasionally ollaborating with a local songwriter. He purchased some recording equipment and built the beginnings of a unique and custom sound. They began to record some demo tunes, defining the style and setting down the roots for what would become the headstone sound. Although the sound was good, it was lacking the true commercial mix John was trying to achieve. That's when another friend of Johns suggested that Frank Stepanek, of "Wailin" Trailer Studio, might take a listen to what they had done and offer some helpful suggestions. It was better then John could have hoped for. The 3 time Grammy award nominee took John under his wing immediately, helping to polish and solidify the strongest aspects of the music. Frank put a band together and arranged a progressive new sound that he coined "Memphis Hardcore". John's lead vocal talents have been said to be reminiscent of the King of Rock. John simply states..."if it's got a beat, I can sing it.".. Myspace Layout Generator-Layoutgen.com
