I'm a drummer who's currently studying music at Uni.
I play with Caleb Garfinkel's Dreaded Nomads, and we have gigs sometime in the near future (we're currently workshopping some new material) so be prepared to check us out. We're planning a mini (emphasize the word "mini") tour in December.
Also have a jazz quartet going on: bass (Steve Hornby), guitar (Trent Jansz), and trumpet (Travis Woods). We've been jamming a heap, and playing a fair amount of gigs. We play restaurants, cafes, parties (21sts), art galleries, University Functions, receptions... Anything. We've played Bennetts Lane, and currently have a residency at Casa Bella Restaurant (Northlands, Preston) Friday nights (7-10) and Sundays at midday. Come check us out.
I'm also interested in some other percussion stuff, like congas. I foresee myself being involved in Music for all of my life. Heck, I want to base my career around it, so if you're someone who is dedicated to what they do, give me a call and get me involved...
Long term life goals include tons of live playing, doing session work and hopefully staying out of teaching if at all possible.
I'm really working at getting into VCA next year, to do a Bachelor of Performance (Improv), but I'm currently doing a Diploma at VU. We'll see what happens.
