The name Black N Wild by definition would lead one to see a dark sinister unruly group of singers. But this super R&B group defies all titles and stereotypes. They are a group that will prove to bring a fresh new sound to the world. Within a time where true R&B groups are a rarity, Black N Wild is a group that has always been a crowd favorite. They have time and time again produced music that not only is unique but engaging. They have the ability to make any new listener an instant fan, giving them a soulful twist of harmonies and melodies. They are definitely a group that will produce not only a new refreshing sound but also a powerful movement. Beginning their journey in 1990 at Frederick Douglass Middle School these 4 boys, molded and groomed by a strong gospel background decided to form a group called Pure Image. It took a couple years but 1992 was the year they began to see they were a diamond in the rough. Led by Bishop Wilcox, the young men began to travel up and down the east coast singing and performing in just about every city reaching out to their peers and gaining valuable experience and an even more valuable fan base. Throughout their touring they discovered that they were continually gaining more and more support due to their tremendous live performances. Always believing in themselves and their special gifts the group knew that they wanted to make an impact within the music industry. As they continued writing, producing and arranging their own music, they soon became masters of their own sound. Because of their originality, there has always seemed to be an overwhelming attraction to their collective voices. Knowing they were destined for greatness the next step was acknowledgment, which came in 1996. The then Pure Image got their first big break when they were introduced to the multi-platinum group Jodeci in Rochester, NY where they were recording their album "The Show, AfterParty & Hotel". This would prove to be the recognition they needed. Immediately, corporate businessman and super producer Devante Swing took an interest in the group and signed them to his Bassment label. Along side various creative and talented artist such as Timbaland, Missy, Playa, Genuine and Suga the boys continued to develope their sound and hone their skills. Living and working with such a diverse stable of creativity they were able to become a dominant quartet within today's music industry. Utilizing the luxury of having four lead singers, their originality allows them to be ambiguous to the stereotypes of urban music today. Their sound would be considered as a harmonious blend of urban soul, rock and pop. It is almost like four winds of the world came together to give you a rush in your soul. Now traveling to the present, after a three year hiatus they are ready to share their gifts with the world. They bring a new vibe that if not felt would only mean you are left in the past. Their sound is the natural progression of R&B music. They were molded by one of the best R&B groups in the world and are up to the task of taking it to the next level. Throughout their long journey in life they have gained substantial fanfare and have had the opportunity to work with and become favorites of many industry A-listers such as Russell Simmons, Jimmy Iovine, Mike City, Mark Sparks, Stevie J, Mr Dalvin, K-Ci, Jo-jo, Lisa Fisher, Aaron Hall, Steve Lucas, Kurupt, Anthony Hamilton, Sunshine Anderson, Tweet, Andre Harell just to name a few. So all I can say in my final conclusion is be prepared because these guys Black N Wild are getting ready to take the industry by storm no doubt about it. These boys have a destiny and it has yet to be fulfilled.
