Learning, preferably by experience. It's not as safe as books but it means a whole hell of a lot more to you when you're done. I wish I'd understood that much sooner, but I know it now so I'm happy.
I don't think anyone could ever measure up. Not to me, but to who I already know.
And I will raise my hand up
Into the night time sky
And count the stars
That's shining in your eye
Just to dig it all an' not to wonder
That's just fine
And I'll be satisfied
Not to read in between the lines
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain
And I will never, ever, ever, ever
Grow so old again.
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
Sugar-baby with your champagne eyes
And your saint-like smile....
I don't find the time to watch as many as I used to. Sometimes when people are talking about something I wanted to see it bums me out. Then I realize what I've been doing with my time instead, and who with, and it doesn't bother me at all. I'd still like to see Children of Man, though.
Shows I'll admit to liking are limited to: Deadwood, Freaks and Geeks, The Wonder Years, The West Wing, The Simpsons, The Sopranos (though it's tough to admit to those last two lately), Big Love, and Weeds. Plus all the nerdy stuff on PBS/History/Discovery etc.
Like crazy recently.
She thinks "Pyrex" sounds like "pirates".
