About Me

Brian Aret was born in Holland and moved to Australia at the age of 3. Ever since first grade Brian has played an instrument of some sort. Whether it be drums, guitar, bass, keyboard or vocals.
In 2006/2007, Brian had the opportunity to spend 18 months in NY, USA and immerse himself in the local music scene. Brian recorded his debut EP Artisan Years under the supervision of Billy Masters, a compilation of original songs about teenage angst and experiences, with some guitar instrumentals thrown in. Brian studied jazz at Queens College, and drums, guitar, and vocals with various local musicians. He also had the chance to play at various venues, such as CBGBs and The Red Lion on Bleeker, Carnegie Hall, and the Watercolor Café.
Upon moving back to Sydney early 2008, Brian focussed his songwriting, recording, and performing energy on his band The Cruise, and also as a founding member of A Bad Day's Good Night, subsequently winner of the 2008 Kool Skools Awards and named best pop rock band of 2008 at an award ceremony at the Metro Theatre in Sydney.
Brian performs regularly, with his band The Cruise, and as drummer for pop-punk band Escapade. He occasionally performs his original material in a solo-acoustic setting (guitars / vox), and also supports various acts on drums / cajon / percussion or guitar / vox.
