Just about anyone over a decent pizza and a pitcher of Lite at BiJe's on Irving or over a sandwich at the Abbey. Mrs. B and I are pretty much pub people: we don't go to many top shelf restaurants even though we can; we're very casual. We've been really lucky to meet a lot of fascinating people, and EVERYbody's got a story.
Loved Ray Davis at Taste of Chicago; Los Straitjackets at the Abbey, Belle & Sebastian
Muvico in Rosemont, no question the best of the best. Oh! Movies? Uhm, most of 'em are over-produced CGIed pieces of crap lately. But (early) Marx Bros. crack me up; Laurel and Hardy, 3 Stooges (Goddamit, Koz, get some new ones at the station, willya?); House of 1000 Corpses still makes me laugh, "and it keeps gettin' funnier every time I see it!"
The missus and the girls bought me a TiVo for Fathers Day a year or so back; awesome stuff. I recommend Tivo.
Yes, lots of them and all of the time.
...walk among us.
