The Beat Presidents are a dishevelled pop combo from Brighton. Hailing from different corners of the country, they met by chance beneath Brighton's Palace Pier on New Year's Day, 2008. Many months and a few line-up changes later, the four that had originally sang Beatles songs on a five-stringed acoustic guitar on that icy morning played their first gig together and so completed the first stage of their journey from bedroom-based troubadours to bona fide rock'n'roll legends. With an intimidating and ever-expanding canon of pop classics many in the business would sell their kidneys for, The Beat Presidents aim is to project their conversational tales of love and relationships to as many listeners as possible through an explosive combination of infectious melodies, danceable beats, joyful harmonies, pumping bass and spiralling guitars. They are a glorious disease on the brink of blossoming into a fully fledged pop epidemic and there's only one question worth asking....
are you ill?
