a little affair
a little affair (uh lit'al uh-far') n. 1, a three piece band from southern New Jersey that plays Indie Rock music.2, a band that draws influences from a variety of artists, and has a dynamic sound. 3, a band that plays the kind of music that comes out of them naturally.
Working in his 10’ X 10’ loft in his parents house in the farmlands of New Jersey, Ben has written and recorded over 300 songs in the last 18 months. Together with Ryan and Tom, he sorted through the colossal repertoire, skimming the cream of the musical crop into their indie pop/rock project, A Little Affair. Since May of 2007, the trio have been experimenting and shaping their sound around these songs, which they have captured in their debut album "Find Your Light", which is on sale now.
When A Little Affair set out to create an album, they weren’t sure what the end result would be. They knew they wanted to create something that listeners could feel connected to, through both thought-provoking lyrics and aurally pleasing melodies. After over two months of recording in Electrophile Studios, the result is the flawless “Find Your Light.â€
The band had countless songs at their disposal, but the 12 tracks ultimately chosen for the album fit together like pieces of a puzzle. “Find Your Light†is a captivating collection of songs; it has everything from upbeat, groove-worthy tunes and organic sing-a-longs to brutally honest accounts of struggles with society. Even with this contrast, the album displays musical unity throughout, and is impossible to stop listening to.
All aspects of this album were completed by the members of A Little Affair: writing, performing, recording, engineering, mastering, producing, album art work, and the mini-documentary The Making of "Find Your Light", available on the band’s MySpace page.
“Find Your Light†is set for release on April 22nd and will cost $5 for the full-length album so everyone can enjoy the tunes at a reasonable price. It will be available on their MySpace as a digital download for 50 cents per track, or through a link to their manufacturer for a hard copy that will be mailed directly to the listener.
