For in much wisdom, there is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. - Eccl 1:1

About Me

A down-to-earth bayou boy with that Southern accent that makes it clear where I'm from! Ain't no sense in even trying to suppress it anymore, I'm reppin' Tha Boot until death. I'm a straight shooter and expect nothing but straight talk, or you'll be flicked off like a dandruff flake.

I also ride out on my 2007 Kawasaki EX650 (that's an ER-6F for you Europeans and a Ninja 650R for the untrained American eye). I rep the Sport-Boss Riders in Shreveport, LA, and I show love to those who show it back. On that note, big shouts to the Buffalo Soldiers MC, Twisted Sisters Fury MC, Kountry Boyz MC, Southside Rydaz MC, Wild Bunch (good lookin' out, Deek and Meek!), and the Patriot Guard Riders.

Robert Earl Shearer, Jr. (1980-2007)
Your ride is finished, brother. At ease...

My Interests

Computers, reading, chillin' with some drank

I'd like to meet:

Every president since I've been alive (Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton, and Bush 43) to ask them why they chose to make war with dictators and despots in Europe and Asia and completely flew over the fragile and emerging democracies and entrenched dictatorships in Africa to do it. While Iraq is on the cusp of civil war, Somalia still has no recognized government, and millions of Africans still live in abject poverty the likes of which many Americans can't even comprehend, let alone will ever approach. I'd especially would like to meet the current president and ask him how the life of an Iraqi is worth more than the life of an American for which he is responsible, because Baghdad and Mosul have received a hell of a lot more money than New Orleans and Biloxi.

Music:

Favorite song: "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In," The Fifth Dimension. Amazing how four little words in a song will touch you when sung a certain way. Besides that, I'll listen to just about anything! But Outkast and some smooth jazz'll do it for me. Weaning myself off of the hardcore stuff; getting too old for all of that! And there STILL ain't nobody bad like Morris Day and The Time! Cool!

Movies:

Lilies of the Field, The Power of One, Twelve O'Clock High

Television:

The Wire, Modern Marvels/Engineering Disasters, Champ Car racing, Meerkat Manor (RIP Flower), Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order, Lockup on MSNBC

Books:

Eric Jerome Dickey and Michael Eric Dyson books, books about race relations and politics/political science. Magazines: RACER, KING, Time, Sports Illustrated. About to subscribe to The Nation and The Weekly Standard.

Heroes:

Teresa Lynn Traylor (love ya, mama!), my pops Big Al, Muhammad Ali
