"I BELIEVE IN INDIVIDUALITY. ALL OF MY CREATIONS ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER. I NEVER DUPLICATE ANY OF MY FASHION DESIGNS. I DESIGN FOR EACH ONE OF YOU; NOT FOR ALL OF YOU." Nicolas"JE CROIS A L'INDIVIDU. CHACUNE DE MES CREATIONS EST DIFFERENTE. JE NE REFAIS JAMAIS 2 FOIS LE MEME FASHION DESIGN. JE CREE UN DESIGN POUR CHACUN DE VOUS, PAS POUR TOUS." NicolasATHLETIC WOMEN T-SHIRTS ( 3 )Cheer up even at the most casual affairs! I incorporated these very common butsurprisingly charming brand new Russell women’s T- Shirts to our Sparkling collectionof Greens to add a sense of diversity to the line. I wildly painted on them splashing afabulous amount of Sea Green’ semi gloss latex and let it dry for twenty four hours.Day two : Evidently utilizing my own two hands, to create a supplementary stimulatingiconic effect, on the wicked green stain I stated a generous glut of my favorite blueblack latex enamel.I think they are so unique. Even though they seemingly look alike each one iscompletely different from each other. Ideal for a Rock and Roll band situation whereeach member craves to keep his or her individuality without sacrificing their statementof solidarity and visual unification. Rock and Roll !MANDARIN GREEN LEAFY JACKET ( 1 )Up-to-the-minute it is considered to be one of our most important textile designspieces. Pertaining to our collection of Sparkling Greens, I think it’s senseless.Predictably Asian, the cut of this clever ready to wear Mandarin Green leafy jacketwithout a collar and four little pockets in the front possessed all the charm it needed,to be associated with our dazzling bright green series. I painted on it without anyparticular intentions adding to its one-dimensional militant design a bit of fun, that’sall. First, erratically stroked with an indecisive pastel pea semi gloss green latex paint.Day two : In large quantities approached with dashes of high gloss black enamel handprints. I thought of it to complement with the rest of our greens that shine. Not toargue, it’s made to entertain. Enjoy it !“THIS IS THE KIND OF THING THAT YOU CAN WEAR ON STAGE AND PEOPLE WILL LOVEYOU EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A VOICE, BUT IF YOU DO, COULD YOU IMAGINE!"-S U P E R M O D E L YANELLE DUGARINCANDECENT GREEN JACKET ( 1 )This peculiar little green jacket ( a’ la bolero ), made of fine corduroy carries on withgreat style. Despite its incandescent green color insistently on, its vividness provokesinspiration. Quiet refreshing its ‘night out’ glamour is adorably girlish. It was incrediblyfun to make it. I painted generously on it choosing marshmallow green and added thatthick black drip of paint to anticipate the sensuality and sophistication that ultimatelyexists in every woman.MUSHROOM COLOR DENIM JACKETS ( 2 )These juvenile denim jackets with black feather fans on their front pockets will growrapidly on you.Their lovely light brown mushroom color with discrete little diamond particles carefullyspeeded on their youthful well cut design called for a few solid hand print hits, only.Day one : Marshmallow Green semi-gloss latex enamel. Day two : Oil based high glossjet black enamel. Alluring as well as playful their unique textile design is flexibleenough to wear on those locations where attitude should be the strongest elementof style but compromising the long-established glamour and the fabulousness of rockand roll would be out-of-date.HAUNTED GREEN JACKET ( 1 )This short Haunted Green sport Jacket makes its entrance to our Sparkling Greenfashion collection this week with a fabulous radiant attitude, bedazzling in the dark likea third eye sensing attraction. It’s amazing fluorescent textile design harmonizes withmystery and magic. I spanked it with a Lemon Drop green semi-gloss latex allowingthe paint to dribble until dawn. Next day : Imagine it so fabulously under themoon light, holding hands by the sea or kissing passionately under the stars. Made tolove.MELON GREEN DINNER JACKETAttitude is the soul speaking through out your body moving; Rock and roll all night withthis exciting eye candy melon green dinner jacket. Its very suave natural allurealternates with dashes of ethereal greens and magical gluts of black painted handprints. Seemingly chaotic but Intentionally fabulous, its textile design divertswell with its inborn elegancy. It is as rebellious as it is also femininely fun to wear. Dance !NEW WORKS BY NICOLAS ARJONA
By John LoringE dited from a panoramic range of personal adventure that has taken himfrom a childhood in the corruption and extravagance of Noriega’s PanamaCity ; to teen years squandered in the glitz of Miami’s Ocean Drive; to hisearly twenties in the opposite world of the Upper East side’s Fifth Avenue ;along with years spent performing as lead singer with his band in the lowerEast side’s rock clubs ; and, along the way, appearing in Madonna’s"Memory Lane" television special of 1998, Nicholas Arjona’s work comesfrom a well-to-overnourished imagination focused by both passionate likesand just as passionate dislikes. The glut of reality intake served up by dawning 21st century Americagenerally has led contemporary art to an unfocused negativity that includeseverything and likes nothing.Arjona takes an opposing view creating icons that are symbolic of the powerand sensuality of popular culture and its relentlessly pursued goal of successthrough mass seduction.Like Arjona himself, his works have an exceptionally original take on theability of memorable graphic "icons" ( as he is given to call them ) todominate and to seduce. There is in them an agressivity and even savagerythat must come from his native American origin unsettlingly but seamlesslybalanced with a surprisingly worldly elegance. The work is unabasadly autobiographical, the turbulence, scope andbrutal/beautiful realities of the artist/subject life hold up a mirror that showsus ( whether we wish to recognize it or not ) what life is actually like in2006. The reflection looks good.
