My name is Shawn Jensen. I'm the lead singer and one of the lyricists in SoulTree. Music has always been one of my
passions in life. For as long as I can remember I've been singing, but it wasn't until my freshman year in high
school that I realized my talent for song writing. I started off singing R&B, it wasn't until I meet up with the
guys that I realized the variety of my vocals. I first met Nate at a party, then later on ended up getting a job
with him. He had heard from a couple of co-workers that I could sing, (during that time SoulTree was looking for a
lead vocalist) so Nate asked me if I would be interested in attending a practice to check out their style and see
if I'd be interested in singing for them. I didn't take him serious because I was an R&B singer, not an alternative
singer. A few months past and I had finished a couple of my R&B songs that I wanted to record, I ended up going to
Brett and Nate's house to use their recording equipment. They played a couple of their songs for me, showed me some
of the lyrics they had, talked me into learning a song or two, and here we are now, a complete band. Doing what we
love trying to make our dreams come true.

My name is Nate McManus. I am 28 years of age at present and was born in the grand city of Columbus,
Ohio. Go Buckeyes!! Though most of my life i have lived in Northern Utah (Nibley, just pretend you knew where
that is, all over Cache Valley but mostly Nibley, and all around Weber County) I started playing guitar when
i was 16 and half minus 16 days. Just a mere 18 days before the first time i ever saw or smoked pot, that also
happened to be Brandons 16th birthday, though i didn't know him for like 6 or 7 more years. I digress, I
learned guitar on my own for the first 4 months, then I (actually my grandpa) paid for 6 months worth of
lessons, though i only attended about half of them. By the end of the first year of playing I was in a band.
We named ourselves Luminus. I played a very basic and crude form of rhythm guitar (honestly i sucked on a weasel
cock, not litterally just my guitar playing). Though i was instrumental in the writing of many of the songs.
Eventualy we robbed an Honor Photocopy center to make fliers for a show, and were prosecuted for it. Our drummer, being
under age was forced, by his parents to quit the band. That was the end of that.about a year later i moved to ogden with two missions,
1- get laid
2- make a rock band
It took me a year on the first, and four more on the second one, which doesn't even take us to now.
Because in the intervening time we had to learn to play together, find a sound(s) of our own, wait for Brett to
go on 2 tours, and most importantly, find a good singer that will fit in with us, and that took about three and a
half to four more years which finally brings us back to now. Peace n8

Well my name is Brandon Myren and I play the bass guitar. I started to play when I was in the army around march of 2000, when i broke my leg skateboarding. First
started playing radio songs and songs I liked from bands like 311 and Red
Hot Chili Peppers. I started playing with some friends. We tried to play all together like a band, but with no structure it didn't last very long. Leaving me to play by myself.
Then i met Nate and started jammin' with Brett and Nate. After a while, just playing
around turned into writting some songs then getting it all together. Which snowballed into and getting a
bunch of songs done. All the while looking for a singer to complete the band......
more practice no singers.....more practice some singers come and then go .....
then Shawn came along, adding yet another twist of his own to the music....more practice,
lyrics solidified and then finnally we were ready to get out there and start playing some shows, but
Brett goes on his summer tour (for more info see Brett)
so......more practice, more lyrics
solidify. Brett comes home more practice and the first show at Kamikazees and
the rest is........

Hey my name Is Brett Walker. I have been drumming for the past 12 years. I have played kit,
congas (other had perction), also marching and concert bands. So i was thinking about telling
you everything about every band and things i have been a part of but i think i will just tell
you most about the time with SoulTree. Nate and i started jaming together (we worked together)
then Brandon came and started playing with us. We were really just like a jam band. Then we
started to play songs with more of a structure to it. Some of our songs even had lyrics to them.
during this time i left the band 4 seprate times to go on what is called a music mission, with the
continental singers. I did not play drum kit i played hand percution like congas and bongos, and
other toys. every time i left to go on these tours i would be gone for three months at a time. Before
I went on my fourth tour with the Continentals we found a singer and his name was Shawn. So i was kinda
bumed becuase as soon as we got Shawn we started writing alot of songs and getting to sound so cool and
well so... SoulTree! So i left the band once again to go on tour. as soon as i got back we started practicing
really hard and trying to get gigs and wham bam we got gigs people started enjoying our music.....
Sounds Like: SoulTree has its own sound but if you lisen to our favorite bands you might hear stuff that sounds like these bands...311, Project 86, Linkin Park, tool...
If you think you know what we sound like and would like to tell others please send us a message telling us who you think we sound like.
