About Me

"it's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me . . . and I'm feeling good." Nina Simone. I am thankful for the life that I have experienced and continue to lead. I have just turned 26 this year, and I welcome it! I've never been healthier. I have a ton of careers--basically my job titles include graphic designer At Large, advertiser/ adviser, photographer, college senior, writer, artist, designer, consultant, basketball player/announcer, and dancer. yes, I juggle. I'm blessed to be doing what I love. I'm fortunate, but I can proudly say I've made my own good luck. I bust my ass! I know a ton of people worldwide, but I only count a handful as real deal famalams (Pp Slangers stand-up). I'll do anything for them. I cherish time spent with crew, and I'm a silly goose so I just like to be loud, bug out, snap, eat good food, and have good conversation without the TV on. I also really care about my community, when my schedule permits I step in and do my part. in my limited leisure spent alone, I'm most happy spending time listening to all kinds of music I just discovered the joy of vinyl. yes, I'm getting to be old school (i'm trying to avoid using a cell phone on my day-to-day activities), and don't mind getting up to flip over a record to hear the second side of an album. ah, the joy of a listening session. a lot of people like music for background to their conversation. I like to listen to music as my primary source of stimulation, like really pay attention to the emotion it can bring out of me (I am a very passionate person). I dig indie films, although I wish more spoke to my interests and to people of color. in time. at this point in my life, the most important thing to me is to surround myself with positive, progressive, and independent-minded people. I have not always allowed myself to live in peace, nor has that been the card that destiny has shown me. but I've survived, gotten stronger, and have learned (and been taught) a lot of life lessons. my ultimate goal now is to live healthily, have fun, be a role model, and eventually have a loving family. that will happen, in time, insha'allah. other stuff: parents mom born Colon, Panama and pa'dukes born in Brooklyn, NYC flavors; I'm bred in Texas days (H.G. represent) and nueva york veranos, and a committed lifetime resident of Dallas, Texas (its the place, I call home).
