About Me

Deviant became an entity in late 1998. Preferring harmony and dynamics, the band crafts their groove-laden musical assault by fusing elements of modern metal and melodies, heartfelt issues dealing with human strength, perseverance and honour. Influences are drawn from bands such as Machine Head, Alice In Chains, Vision Of Disorder, Hatebreed and Lamb of God etc.
Based in the tiny country of Singapore, Deviant have gigged extensively and earned itself a name for dynamic songwriting and aggressive vocals which have set it apart from the rest. Deviant's first studio effort was the locally produced Myx Metal Assault II compilation in 1999 where we contributed two songs, ‘Impurity’ and ‘Understand My Rage’.
Numerous lineup changes have delayed its long deserved debut release but it has not deterred the band from recording this 5 song EP titled' What We Bring Forth'. Deviant’s mission has always been to write music that satisfies our own musical affinities and not conform to the ‘play trendy music’ banner. This EP is evident of their perseverance and hard work.
‘What We Bring Forth’ is a preview of heavier things to come as Deviant continues to grow as a band and pen uglier, sicker riffs - laden songs. The band has already began its next course of action to record a full length album. This upcoming album will feature UK based drummer Pete Hunt who was involved in some major and upcoming London metal acts, including Dragonforce (then known as Dragonheart), Geared 4, Razor of Occam And Savage Messiah.
Momentum is building at a steady rate with 8 songs completed and Deviant cannot wait to show the world what they are capable of!
