About Me

The 80s wasn't all bad, despite the Tories. Am fondly remembering the bands I went to see in the early 80s - Joy Division , Killing Joke , Siouxsie and the Banshees , Bowie , Iggy , Bauhaus , The Specials , The Several, The Three Johns , The Trudy , Five or Six, Young Marble Giants , Crispy Ambulance , The B-52's , Cardiacs , Furniture and many others that don't come to mind right now, plus those whose records I bought but never got to see live: Marc Bolan , Bob Marley , The Clash , The Cure , The Psychadelic Furs , The Stranglers , The Only Ones (though did see them recently), The Pretenders , X-Ray Spex , The Ruts , UK Subs , The Damned even.Gigs at The Clarendon on Hammersmith Broadway, The Greyhound in the Fulham Palace Road and Snoopies at The Castle in Richmond - all long gone now, of course. The Ace on Brixton Hill, the town halls of Chiswick, Acton and Surbiton, the Lyceum, Hammersmith Palais, even St James's Church in Piccadilly for a Banshees anti-heroin gig in '85 - they were good times at great venues. Now here's me reuniting some of my mates from the early 80s ...
