Being a simple yokel type, I always approve of music that can invoke an instant (positive!) reaction. A mere twenty seconds into the lead track of Stubb's EP and my face is hugely contorted into furious air guitar ecstasy. 'Road' begins with a big lolloping drumbeat before it is savagely underpinned with the aforementioned axe gymnastics that screams 'Hendriiiiix!' in your ears. The rest of the track is dominated by a fantastic foot stomping chorus and some more totally necessary wig outs. Definitely a track for one of those 'driving in your car' cd-r compilations......

Imagine Hendrix jamming with The Heads in a small, dark and moist rehearsal room and everything was recorded live to 1/2” tape – well, then you might have an idea of what Stubb is all about! But this is actually just a trio of two guys and a young lady from London in love with acid rock....

Recording

Recording for the split with Grifter will begin soon, this time we have a longer amount of time to spend on laying the tracks down. As has always been the plan with Stubb, expect some different sounds...

Stubb to enter recording studio this month!

Stubb will be recording a three track demo with Tim Cedar (Part Chimp) at the controls on 23rd February. The recording will be made to analogue tape. Info on track names will follow soon.
