"THE WORLD AIN'T READY FOR THIS"

About Me

============================================================ =============== INTRODUCING THE DOUBLE-THREAT---DYNAMITE--- The hip-hop & R&B industry desperately needs a new star--someone who can move both genres to another level! 2007 was less than impressive. Not very many hits but lots of NOISE! Hip Hop connoisseurs are tired of the same--'ole styles! There has yet to be a star to emerge that can blend the best of both coasts and capture the hearts of R&B enthusiasts. Jon Jordan aka JJ, and DYNAMITE is that artist! Jon was born in West Memphis, Arkansas, the poorest state in the United States. He moved to Prince Georges County, Maryland twelve years ago and graduated from Duval High School. While there, he was a star basketball player starting at shooting guard. A knee injury ended his basketball hopes. He found his way to the United States Air Force, leaving after two years. With his brief military career over, JJ began singing, playing drums, and writing songs for his neighborhood church. It was at this time that he began thinking about being a part of the music industry. While working as a store manager of a packaging store, Jon found his life's call as a producer/performer. He was invited to a night of karaoke at a local restaurant, and when he was asked to sing, he shocked the crowd with his silky-smooth Marvin Gaye-like sound. After going back for several weeks, many people began telling him he should be a singer. It all came together not long after that. "Dynamite" was to be born during an explosive time that Jon describes as "hard times and trouble". After dealing with law enforcement on several occasions, JJ began writing rhymes of his experiences on paper. As a result, an artist was born that is rarely seen. Calling upon his childhood idols of Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Johnny Taylor, B.B. King, Notorious B.I.G., and others, Jon fused these great talents of the north and south into his unique sound, to form what he calls--FUSION RAP--a mixture of street-wise rap vocals with soulful R&B hooks. Dynamite writes and spits all of his rhymes but he also sings all of his background vocals. If you listen closely, there is much going on in his songs! His writing is from the heart. He is a true storyteller a "preacher" of sorts... As many have said, "Jon makes the beat, the beat does not make him!" You will hear bits of the blues, gospel, R&B, and the traditional hip-hop flavor in his music. The polyphonic sound is extraordinary and is exploding like dynamite upon the music scene. "I'm bringin' real music back", Jon says. He will change the very face of rap and R&B in the industry! Get ready! Check him out...
