My Motorcycle accident in July

On July 15th I was in a motorcycle accident. The man driving went around a corner and the back of the bike slid out from under us. I don't remember the accident, but apparently I bounced onto the road, back up onto the front of a truck, then back onto the road.
I spent the next 6 weeks in Metro. My pelvic bones were broken in 29 places. The break twice ruptured my bladder, and once my intestines. Those required two surgeries to repair. I also had a severe head injury and my ear was badly damaged. I also lost some teeth. I have no memory of the next 3 weeks. My children were told that if I survived I would probably not walk again, and if I did, my brain probably wouldn't heal enough for me to function. They were told they needed to consider putting me in long-term care center when I was ready to be released.
However, I'm one of those people that if you tell me I can't do something my thought is "Okay, move out of my way. I'll handle it." So handle it I did. My brain is now back to what it was before the accident. My ear is still healing, so I have to deal with that. My teeth can't be repaired until the ear heals, so I'll get around to that later.
So - I am still not totally healed. I have recurrent health problems where my bladder ruptured, problems where the breaks were, teeth that need replaced, and I get tired very easy sometimes. I'm still the woman I once was mentally and emotionally - I'm just not there yet physically.
A portion of my life will be devoted to me volunteering time with people in the hospital. I was lucky - my brain started functioning very quickly in it's former state. Others have a very hard battle with that. I watched people daily on the floor I was on struggle with it. If being exposed to some one like me, that healed with dignity, respect, and perseverance helps one person heal a bit better that means the world to me.
