Monkey Boy!

And everybody tells me that it's cool to be a cat, cool for cats.

About Me

There’s over 140 million people on MySpace, what makes you so special?
Well, I’m an individual, just like everyone else in this world. My name is Daniel Olivares and I’m 21 years old. My nickname is Monkey Boy, a name I got from high school because I look like one, especially when I take off my glasses and pull a monkey face.
Monkey Boy? Wasn’t your nickname Carlos back in high school?
Actually that was the nickname of my penis after a joke Jess (a high school friend) made about me wearing a pair of sunglasses. It made me look like a drug dealing character my high school mates called Carlos. Jess made a joke about my ‘mini-Carlos’ and the nickname originated from that.
That story was boring and irrelevant. Get back to your bio.
Ok. I attended Penleigh & Essendon Grammar School (PEGS) from 1996 and finished in 2002. Whilst there, I participated in hockey and athletics (long distance) as well as other activities. I finished with an alright ENTER and enrolled in Victoria University in 2003.
Victoria University, eh? I'd rather teach myself then go to that university.
VU isn’t that bad. I studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Logistics & Transport, completing it in 2006. For the first 2 years I participated in the Southern Uni Games representing the university in Men’s Hockey. I played in Adelaide (2003) then Geelong (2004). I travelled to Thailand as part of a subject in my course too (2005). I was also part of the Victoria University Student Union (VUSU) from 2004 til 2006.
Unions are as extinct as dinosaurs. The difference is people like dinosaurs.
It does have it's moments, but being part of a student union is fun. I was the Secretary/Treasurer then General Representative at the VUSU Werribee Campus Branch. Then in 2006 I was one of the editors of Victoria University’s student magazine, SEED. I was also VUSU’s web administrator.
A bloody nerd. Why ain’t I surprised? I assume you work too, nerd.
After a few small jobs I did for relatives, I worked for 3 and a half years with Bunnings Warehouse in Altona then Broadmeadows. I then began working for a small online store called Bad Backs . As of early 2007, I begin my new job with BlueScope Steel.
Nice one. What else can you say about yourself?
Well, my background is Chilean. However, I was born and breed here and I only speak English. Check out my “Interests” section of my profile to find out more about me.
How much do your MySpace friends get paid to be your friend?
Most of my friends are from high school, university, work and other walks of life. Some are just music artists, night clubs and other things of interest to me. You could always join up with Fake Your Space if you want.
No thanks. Is that it? Can I go now?
Yeah, that’s about it. Feel free to read my blogs, look at my photos, watch my videos, listen to my music and check out the rest of my profile. Send me a message or leave me a comment too if you want.
I'll think about it. I'm off. See you later.
Bye.

My Interests

Going out to pubs, clubs and bars around Melbourne. Apple Computers and related stuff (iPods, Mac Software, etc.). Going to the movies, shopping (CDs, clothes, etc.) and eating out. Playing pool or golf with mates. Internet surfing and culture. Supporting the Essendon Bombers (See the Bombers fly up, up for 2007!). Dance music; especially House, Techno, Progressive House, Bootlegs & Electro House. I also like 80s/Retro and Rock/Pop.
