It was a sunny day when a group of four went to a band rehearsal studio to play cover songs from Cranberries. The jam went well but it was boring because the songs were mellow and slow. So they decided to cover songs from an early released album from No Doubt which were more lively and upbeat. Then they started to form a band which is not typically a band, because all what this people do is to jam and have fun. More sessions were made and finally, these people were invited to a gig at Angono, Rizal. The first gig they had for quite a long time, which they played cover songs from no Doubt, but until then they haven't come up with a name for what they so called "band".It was their turn to perform on stage and when of the members came up with an idea that all of them agreed because they have to choice or should i say... there are no other suggestions. They called the band "NAILPOLISH". The gig was an absolute fun; people were dancing and shouting to the beat. A member from another ska band invited us for a couple of drinks and told us that the band will be livelier if we have horn section. So the member of the other band recommended a trombone player and a trumpet player. And that was the complete formation of the band.Time passed by, jam sessions, gigs and ever members, trombone and trumpet players were replaced twice and added a sax player. Eventually the bassist left the band which were replaced by the guitarist and hired a new guitar player.Up to this moment the band still active with permanent members and still playing a third wave ska and a little bit of punk, reggae and a fusion of jazz and metal.Established: Late of April 2003Music Genre: Third Wave Ska (is a music genre derived from the fusion of Jamaican ska with various American and British styles of music, such as 2 Tone, rock music, punk rock, pop punk, hardcore and jazz.
