About Me

I grew up in Sydney, but moved down to Melbourne 7 years ago and consider myself a Melburnian. I live with my fiance Andre and our beautiful puppy, Ruby, in Clifton Hill.I have a theatrical background, studied Public Relations and have always worked in the arts and hospitality industries. I started my own publicity & events business 2 years ago specialising in helping talented creative people to market themselves. In the last few years I've become involved in grass roots politics in my community. I am spokesperson for the resident action group and I plan to run as an independent for local council next year. I feel strongly about social justice, public advocacy, and consultation with, and representation of the interests of the community. When I was moving to Melbourne, people warned me about how seriously Melburnians take their football, and told me I would have to have a team because I was bound to be asked. How do you pick a football team? Regardless of my Sydney heritage I didn't pick the Swans (Melburnians hate interstate teams). My first home in Melbourne was in Fitzroy, I couldn't support them because they had merged and become the Brisbane Lions. No, my decision came down to meeting comedian Matthew Hardy at The Espie one night and him describing The Saints (St Kilda) as the bohemians of the football code. How can you resist such a romantic analogy? There is nothing like going to the MCG or Telstra Dome and being surrounded by people with a pie in one hand, plastic pint of beer in the other, covered in footy paraphanalia and shouting a players down on the field. although I find it hard to watch when my team is losing.C'ARN SAINTS!!!
