Alx aka AlxXx (Al Triple X) has been spinnin since the early 90’s.First 10 years were his hip hop days playing the likes of KRS 1 to Eric B and Rakim (makum clap to this!). Alx was in search for something that would fit his love for the music.Early 2000 Alx ran into the Eastern meets West era. Using eastern ethnic sounds mashed up with the west (which is hardly new) and presenting it in a hip hop manner that is not foreign to any ear. His sets would consist of break beat to heavy bass driven ethnic dub yet still rooted to hip hop.Maha Beatz was formed in 2002 which consist of Yogi and Alx. The 2 set up team would rock 4 turntables with a tabla player (Rishi N) at their Famous "Turntablas on the Bayou" parties at The Social. Playing anything from Midival Punditz to Gheto Boys. They would take beatz and throw an ethnic flair with eastern sounds. “It’s all about the music; if we can take a hip hop joint with a tabla player we may open more ears for other music!” Alx says.Midival Punditz, Karsh Kale, Janeka Selecta, Dimm Summer and DK to Jay Dhabi are some of the few that have played at "Turntablas on the Bayou".Currently the 2 host a radio show called GenerAsian Radio on 90.1 FM KPFT Pacifica. The show was started in 2002 and has been on the forefront on breaking new artist.
