The Nova
Fives
...a kick ass DIY punk rock n’ roll band from the deepest depths of the murkiest suburbs of Wolverhampton. Formed in 2008 after a chance meeting on the local music scene, Dan & Kie (Drum and Bass) , Sam & Lee (guitars) instantly felt a musical affinity and decided to thrash out sum jams. They got straight to work writing material and practising, soon followed by their first recorded material which was laid down, produced and mixed at Skylab Studios in neighbouring city Birmingham, with Andy Taylor at the helm (The Editors, Goldblade, Nizlopi).
It seemed that the new punk rock n’ rollers had found their feet and began cutting their teeth on the live circuit playing venues around the UK. They quickly notched some credible support slots with bands such as The Damned, Glen Matlock, and the UK Subs.
In an effort to progress, the band has recently setup their own recording studio based in a abandoned bomb shelter. With a catalogue of music continuing to grow and an unquenchable thirst for playing live, the future for The Nova Fives is unknown, but one thing is certain... rock n’ roll will never die, and The Nova Fives will always be its loyal servant. You’re born, you live, and you die, it’s what you do in the middle that counts...
