A dream achieved, is the dream that brings forth a sense of satisfaction. Something that hasn't been seen, even after all the struggling of the civil rights advocates. The dream that Dr. king envisioned was fulfilled to a vague point of view. We are able to ride the buses with any ethnicity of people we choose. Our choice of a spouse is no longer dictated by the fear of a color line breach; we go for those caucasians openly. The schools are mixed just as the neighborhoods we live in. However, this does not seem like the promise land that he had foreseen. I would love to ride the doctor's manhood to glory, but he's dead and no other leaders have taken a stand for order or a cause with direction. How dissappointing it is to see the pacification of my people done with minimum effort. The aftermath of the riots of 68' gave way for the oppresive lawmakers, business owners, welfare programs, and our lazy selves, to apply a massive amount of anal ease on our social rectum. With our tails high in the air from the partying of the 70's. We ushered in the 80's with great optimism and opportunity, but we still were enjoying our new gained freedom. With each year that has past, our morals and virtues were bouncing around, like father's in different women's wombs. This was more of a lubricant for that social rectum to receive the biggest screw it has ever experienced. Thats right! Another white has come along and screwed us hard, long, and passionately. Crack got in our guts and turned the community out. It has supported our families, given us a multitude of bastard brothers and sisters, and the worst of all is: it has influenced a generation to break back into slavery. More black men are back on the massa's plantation, now called: Correctional Facilities, than college. Adults from young to old are in fear of the younger crack baby generation, that have grown to show their learned lack of value and respect. The new millennium has come and the majority of us have more religion then before, but no salvation for us salvage. Negroes speaking about the end times are here and Jesus will return soon. That is fine and dandy to have your beliefs, but when will we as a whole apply them? The people who claim to have faith and speak down of the worldly folks, are most afraid to die. I guess they're afraid to go to that better place they claim some of our drug dealing, child molesting, murderous family members and friends have gone to when they've passed away. Jesus sacrificed himself for our sins(proclaimed) and yet we're scared to scarifice our lives for a better way of existing. And we boast that we are Free! One month of the year to celebrate our history. I really wonder, What's our future.
