Doe Boy

About Me

I get my Free MySpace Layouts at LayoutStreet.comGrowing up in the ghetto has never been easy. This is especially the case in a city like Chicago where prostitution, drugs and police violence are common place. These, along with various other elements, made the fine line between what is right and wrong a blurry one and childhood for, Rapper, Doe Boy a cold and confusing experience. However, these same elements are what made him into the man and artist that he is today.Like many of todays youth Doe found himself involved with gangs at an early age and by the time he was sixteen he had both been kicked out of school and had run away from home. He lived with friends and slept on trains for a time but eventually ended up in a homeless shelter where he would emerge from three years later having been lucky enough to receive his high school diploma.A year and a half later Doe left Chicago for Clinton Community College in Clinton, Iowa courtesy of a basketball scholarship. Ironically, it was here in Iowa where Doe fell in love with hip hop. Doe says that when he heard B.I.G.s One More Chance for the first time he went crazy. Prior to this Doe listened primarily to Chicago house music and as a youth he was even apart of the well known Chicago dance group the House-O-Matics. Unfortunately, Does time in Clinton was short lived. He was expelled from school in his sophomore year when he was caught selling drugs on campus.By 1997 Doe was back in Chicago continuing to sell drugs out of a west side apartment. Seeing the path he was on and desiring more for him, Does older sister convinced him to join her in the U.S. Navy in 1999. Doe would remain in the Navy until 2002 when he was less than honorably discharged for illegally selling guns, a conviction which left him with his first felony. By 2003 Doe had managed to pick up a two more felonies; the first for possession of a narcotic with intent to sell and the second for check fraud. Since hes been out of prison Doe has been working harder than ever to stay on the right track. Hes done everything from working at Subway to going back to school to get a sanitation license. Doe has surrounded himself with positive people and is now focused on building up his company Catch-Up Entertainment and taking care of his two beautiful children. He has done many shows around the Chicago area including opening up for major rap acts Fabolous and Mike Jones and his first single We Get It In has been getting spins on the Chicago station POWER 92 since late 2005.With so much to live for and so much to learn from Doe Boy is finally on the right track for good. Hes slowly but surely building up his name and his resume with the intent on proving that he is the missing link in the game and that Chicago artist are a force to be reckoned with.
