About Me
He was born Justin Wilkerson in Pittsburgh, PA on June 30th, 1985. Born into an era when rap music started to become popular on a national level, he fell in love with it. As time went on and music started to evolve, he realized he had a passion for it. While listeining to rap music, he also realized that it was more of the production than the lyrics that he fell in love with.Growing up Big Jus listened to early rap legends like Run DMC, LL Cool J, Rakim, and then went on to listening to rap acts like Kriss Kross, Tupac, & The Notorious BIG. Later on when rap evolved to it's "gangsta rap" phaze, Big Jus was heavily influenced by the production of the legendary producer "Dr. Dre".Going from adolescents to his young adult years, Big Jus always made beats by beat boxing with his mouth whether it was an industry song or an original beat. Unlike any other of your favorite producers, it wasn't until the age 16 when Big Jus was able to bring his original beat boxing to life. He brought his ideas to life when he came across the producer program called "fruity loops".After mastering the fruity loops program, Big Jus finally found his signature sound. His sound is defined as a southern style of beat with hard hitting bass lines that bring the best out of your trunk speakers. He also can produce R&B tracks, club tracks, and east coast tracks. He is a versitile producer.Big Jus is also in the midst of trying to start up his own record label called "Bully Ent" where he is the C.E.O. / in-house producer, along with 2 other in-house producers. No artist as of right now.Still being influenced by Dr. Dre, he maintains his longevity being influenced by some of todays hit making producers such as Timbaland, DJ Toomp, Polow Da Don, Shawty Redd, The Runners, Drumma Boy, & Mouse (Trill Fam).Big Jus is currently trying to make placements on every big local and up-coming rap act in his Pittsburgh region. He is also currently working on his production mixtape called 'Doing Big Things' which will feature some of Pittsburgh's most respected rap artist such as Owey, Vonn Treez, S. Money, Kev Da Huslta and more. All production on the mixtape is done by him and is expected to drop this summer.Once he achieves that goal, he plans to make placements on major artist's albums. Today at the age of 23, Big Jus has yet to sign a production deal with an indie or a major label, but if anything comes his way, things can be negotiated.
