Though this be madness, yet there is method in ’t.

About Me

So...here it is...March. Where did the time go? No job as of yet, but I am looking. Really, I am. I mean how many walks along the river with the dog can you take? Things are quiet right now, so I have to say I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm enjoying the last of the winter weather - snowshoeing in Winter Park and curling up with a good book in bed with hot tea. But please let spring come quickly. There are miles of hiking trails to explore! One of these days my dad is going to follow through on his threat and teach me how to fly fish. I'm not sure about this. I mean, after all I am "Dances with Fish," but it might cut into my reading time. There is no better place to read than along side a lake with your fishing pole in the water. I think my dad's plan is to make me an active participant in the fishing progress so he no longer has to tell me when I've actually caught something. :)

My Interests

I love being outdoors. We tend to do a lot of hiking in the summer. Playing the piano. Yeah I finally have one of my own!! And writing the Dictatoress, naturally.

Music:

I'm still going through a Led Zeppelin phase. I'm still trying to figure out my favorites though. "When the Levee Breaks" has risen through the ranks quite quickly as of late knocking "Ramble On" down a notch. What does everyone else think of Robert Plant and Alison Krauss and their album "Raising Sand?" I like it. My husband is making me listen to Rush a lot. It's his favorite band and we have third row seats for when they come to Red Rocks in June.

Movies:

Who's seen "No Country for Old Men?" It's wonderful. Best movie of the year hands down. The Cohen brothers did an excellent job adapting the novel to the screen. Wonderful book too. I recently watched "Dances with Wolves" again. Such beautiful scenery...wonderful screenplay. (Yes...I'm having flashbacks to my screen writing class.)

Television:

So we've been annoyed with the writer's strike (even though it's over now) and the lack of good television. I like the crime and medical drama's as much as the next person but COME ON! Let's talk British comedies. Rent "'Allo, 'Allo"! It's HILARIOUS. Then you'll understand when I say "The fallen Madonna with the big boobies" and laugh until I cry. Or "Coupling." Then we can discuss the "sock gap," "giggle loop," and "Lesbian Spank Inferno," and you'll understand what I'm saying. :-)

Books:

I'm reading a biography on the wives of Henry VIII (Partly because I also read "The Other Boylen Girl" and saw the new movie - yeah...a few liberties with history). Man was that a fascinating piece of world history. Intrigue, seduction, incest, war, jousting, flirtation...you name it, it was there. One man's rise to absolute power and the destruction it wrought on his country. Interestingly enough, if you look at it in a purely technical light (and from Henry's POV alone) he really only had two wives, not five. Technically three of his marriages were declared invalid and therefore by law (his law mind you) never took place. Just something to consider....

Heroes:

Julius and Krislyn!Cradoc!(This one's for you Jacob.)

My Blog

I can tell a hawk from a handsaw...

So...it's 4:23 AM as I start this.  As in 0423 for you military personnel out there.  I haven't gone to bed yet, which is unusual for me.  I blame Julius the Indifferent for my insomnia...
