Strawberry Mary/Phoebe Jean

About Me

Originally in the band Image then Rare Design in the late '80's , early 90's. Phoebe Jean started as a duo and evolved into a band with players coming and going. Main stay members were Dave Gackstetter, Glen Teeple (formerly of Elim Hall www.myspace.com/elimhall) and Kelly (Houghland) Gackstetter. First project Phoebe Jean "Water", recorded and mixed by Andrew Horrocks and produced by Ian Tanner. 1994 Self-titled project, "Phoebe Jean", recorded in our basement by Glen Teeple and again mixed by Andrew Horrocks. 1997 Songs about life, love and loss...reconciliation and redemption. Songs that help you find your true colours and come up for air.We dropped the band thing for a number of years...we still have lots of cds in boxes in the attic....and we still write new songs at the kitchen sink while we do our dishes... thankfully some old friends are lighting a fire under my butt again...hence the newer material on "Strawberry Mary"....we've been looking for Phoebe Jean...and I think she's being found.....thanks Duane and Glen!My hope is that whether I am collaborating or performing that a connection is made in the moment of shared listening and speaking...we have so much to give to one another ...music just makes the touching come easier...

pushing through the concrete

ok...I'm back at it...boldly coming up from underground and music is like an old friend for me...we easily pick up where we left off - barely a word needs to be spoken and I feel at home again...
