Mot started his career at the legendary Edge clubs in Ft. Lauderdale and then Orlando. At some point playing to almost a thousand people every weekend got boring, mostly because the kids in o-town wanted to here the same shit over and over again. "it was pointless to even buy new records they didn't want to hear it"About the time the Edge was driving Mot crazy he was turning on to downtempo and more organic and experimental music. So Mot did the only thing he could do, leave the Edge. Mot then, an Orlando regular, brought his new sound to Havana, at Cafe Eleven, where he defined a new generation turned on to the deep and distressed sounds of the hip hop infused downgroove dance music. "the finest ladies in Orlando were shaking to downtempo beats while blunts circulated the room, no one could touch that shit!" Then it was the Blue Room, a mid size club were Mot's sound reigned supreme and he re-introduced his Orlando faithful to house music. On the musical tip Mot's intense will to express himself further encouraged him to create his Marvin Nash label, which itself, gave birth to such classics tracks as 110 mistakes and onesixteen which further defined Mot's sound. This dedication to the sound did not go unnoticed by by London/FFRR who signed him to their roster of talent and who have since published two of his singles.Next step Icon. Big Club. Big sound. Big Beat. The hard-hitting British breakbeat invasion was rocking the Orlando crowds and giving Mot a taste of that rock-n-roll lifestyle. So what would a rock-n-roll dj career be with out a little rock-n-roll? Mot lived it under the alias of DJ Larceny in 1997 when he went on tour with Motley Crue, enjoying notoriety and scandal which earned his antics airtime on MTV news, and a place on the next 100 list in URB magazine.Having recently broken free from the reigns of a major label, MOT feels empowered to make music at his own pace. "I’m not playing their games anymore," he says. "I’m going to play by my own rules and make tracks that I want to make"Along with his music efforts, MOT has started a skate shop / boutique called COVERT where he spends most of his days. On the positive environmental tip Mot also started a local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, www.surfriderfoundation.org.Now the current unwritten chapter in the Mot saga has him playing at another new venue which is still the talk of the town, Sky60, and there all talking about Mot, still on top of his game with his forever evolving sound. Keep following Mot and you may just glimpse the future before it happens.
